Ruff Draft: Breast Cancer Awareness – Free Printable Bag Tag

October 10, 2012 by
Filed under Free Printables, Freebies, Ruff Draft

October as you know, is breast cancer awareness month…  We want to help support the cause by giving you free printable bag tags!

Shana Shivel, our marketing specialist, asked us to create this tag in honor of all the brave woman who have fought the disease.  She wants to share a personal story with you as well.

In her words…

“I started wearing the pink ribbon in college to honor my aunt who had survived her bout with breast cancer. I am very close to her – like a second mother. My mom and I took her to the beach to celebrate her survival, and I thought that would be the end of my family’s run with it.  However, the disease quickly claimed several of my grandmother’s sisters. We again thought as a family we were in the clear.  Everyone was healthy and relatively young.  However, my life changed forever when my 53 year old mom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.  It quickly spread and she succumbed to the disease.  I do everything I can to honor her memory and support those living with breast cancer and the caregivers who lovingly take care of them.”

With that said, please show your support and use these Breast Cancer Awareness Bag Tags!

A Rockin’ Sweet 15 Birthday Celebration!

A few months ago we were asked to design a collection for an upcoming Sweet 15 Birthday for a traditional Quince Celebration .  Cristy Devito from DeVito Events & Design, reached out to us to help her with her younger cousin’s party.  Just wait until you see this amazing event!!!

Birthday Girl Jennesys and Cousin Cristy

Details (as told by Cristy)

Party planned by myself: Cristy DeVito, DeVito events & design in Miami, FL (bday girl also happens to be my little cousin)

Venue: Loft on Bayshore in Miami, FL

Birthday girl’s cake: Cake by Edda’s

Dad’s cake: Cakes by Yvette Falcon

Photographer: Nichole Lee Photography

We wanted the theme to be unlike a traditional quince and feel more like club theme with loud music (including a drummer and all), lights, couches and pillows. We even had an “hora loca” during the middle of the party where the drummer made his first appearance and when all the props were brought out. It was really a “crazy” fun hour! We custom made the backdrop utilizing the logos you created for us which was a big hit at the party. The teens went crazy over the dessert/candy table the second we “opened” it! The birthday girl shares her actual birthday with her dad so it was a very special moment to bring out a cuban style “cohiba” themed cake for him. The “midnight snacks” were an added touch that was a huge hit among the teens. They all loved the flip flop idea, and in fact, everyone was blown away by ALL the details including the wish tree, etc.

Ready to be blown away by all the fabulous details of this party????

Here is just one photo that I took of our new invitation.  Wouldn’t this be perfect for a little girl who happens to have a birthday near Halloween? (Or just in October in general?)

You can find the invitation and complete DIY Printable Package in the shop!  The Collection is only $10 as our introductory offer (25 pages of printable designs for a fabulous Halloween!).

So… what do ya think?

Find them here in the shop!  Be sure to follow our Glam Halloween Pinterest Board that we just started to get more inspiration!

2011 Pinkoween Collection – Contributing to Susan G. Komen

Last year we collaborated with Courtney Dial of Pizzazzerie on a special Halloween project. We created printables for a Pink Halloween Collection.  Courtney styled her own dessert table using our printables.  Remember?

Pink + Halloween = Pinkoween Collection

There are so many opportunities to celebrate using our Pink Halloween/Pinkoween Collection.  Many of our clients used the package for their little girls’ birthday parties or Halloween parties as well.

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we knew this would be perfect for any fund raising or breast cancer awareness parties and events.

Like we did last year, we are donating $2 for every purchase of our Pinkoween Printable Collection in our shop to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure.

This year we freshened it up and added a few new designs!  Without further delay, here are the photos from our 2011 photo shoot.

pink halloween party printable design collectionWe added party flags to the collection – perfect to add detail to your straws, lollipop sticks and more!

pink halloween party printable design collection 2Our wine wraps are very popular and so we added this to the package as well.  These are great for everything from wine bottles at an adult party to decanters for serving juice at a child’s party.

Don’t you love the polka dot gable boxes?  These came from Polka Dot Market!

We displayed the cute party logos on little pink ribbons hanging from a black feather tree.  We also displayed the logos on cupcakes (with a ruffle embellishment) that are shown in cupcake wrappers by Bella Cupcake Couture.

“I Heart Valentine’s Day” Collection Photo Shoot

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and we wanted to repost this feature from our popular Valentine’s day Collection last year….
From January 2011… we wrote:
Well, it seems as though our “I Heart Valentine’s Day” shoot has been seen by many of you (THANK YOU to all of the featuring blogs for your support!)…. however, we still need to share it on our OWN site! Becca Bond Photography did such an awesome job, and I can’t wait to share all the photos…
This is by far one of our favorite projects that we’ve done. We included LIVE subjects this time (mostly our children ;)) to show off some fabulous clothing by MiniMooh.
That posed a whole new aspect of styling, but it was SO much fun.

This post is image heavy…

We had major inspiration to do something different for the hanging decor. The paper plate polyhedrons are SO easy to make and we were pretty excited to create something unique.
You can find the tutorial on Disney Family Fun….
We used the printable logos as hanging detail on all of the apothecary glass jars.
Cotton candy made a GREAT filler display in the tall glass jars. The cookies from Allyson Jane were strung with ribbon and hung over these fabulous glass apothecary jars…. Don’t you just LOVE the cookies!?
Here are some more of the beautiful cookies from Allyson Jane. She baked them with a hole in them so we could embellish with a ribbon. I love adding another texture to the cookies!

This cake was from a regular plain-old bakery (seriously – $8 at Target!) and we dressed it up with fancy and beautiful fondant from Sweet Petal Bakery. We love this option to decorate our own cake with professional decor/fondant!

Lollipops with the printable lollipop covers were stuck into the fun layered jello (SO easy to make!)
Patterned papers were used with heart craft punches to create this super fun garland that hung on the front of the table.

How cute and simple are these awesome fabric layered flowers….
the beauty is – they never die! ;-)

Don’t you love the mini chocolate bars with the printable wrappers?
Also, the hershey kisses labels!?

These adorable lollis were from This Charming Candy
They were GREAT props for the kids, too!How cute is the dress from Mini Mooh!?
…and the bow tie on my son, Jeffrey! (Mini Mooh)

We got this chalkboard at the Dollar store near us… what a fun prop it made for the kiddos….

Printable folding labels…

The cupcakes from Cupcrazed Cakery in Baxter….
Heather does such an amazing job making the most
unique flavors of cupcakes! These were scrumptious!

We love party flags – they looked really cute on top of the paper straws (from Bake It Pretty). Drink wrap wrapped around the Jones Soda….
Here is my little Peanut (Pierson)….

Are you smiling yet?

This is funny. The first photo Becca took of (my son) Pierson and Arden was this…
… the second shot….
It just took Arden’s mom coming into the room and doing something cute to light up their faces!

Arden and Grayce showing off their MiniMooh dresses….

Here is Adria’s adorable daughter, Grayce…. so cute!

Jeffrey (Anders) and Grayce (Ruff)… best of buddies!
Playin a little xx0 ;-)
Jeffrey LOVED the macarons from Sparkles Kitchen.
So did Grayce!

We used the patterned papers to make these hearts that
we topped the oreo truffles with….I just love all of the patterns!
(PS. I made these oreo truffles with my cookie girls – we get together every Christmas to make cookies and this year we made these! So fun, right?!)

We included some new design accessories in this package. Favor hangtag, and a template for a box with heart closure…. and a COOTIE catcher / fortune teller…. (bringing back memories yet?)
We used the twine from The Cupcake Social to create a sweet little pom on top.

Printable valentines with a folding pocket envelope to put around the valentine…

Patterned papers, again, being used! Aren’t these little bottles so cute!?

Beautiful macarons from Sparkles Kitchen

I’ll leave you with this sweet shot….
Thank you to ALL of our fabulous contributors!

A pink and green baby shower

March 24, 2010 by
Filed under Baby Shower, Baking, Parties, Party Favors

A dear friend of mine, Amy, announced that she was having a THIRD baby . . . and at that moment my wheels began turning. SHOWER. I wanted to host a baby shower for her! She had 2 boys and we just KNEW she just HAD to have a girl.
18 weeks came and I got the call from Amy (with my joy!) that she was expecting a girl!
Her nursery was done in pink and green and we decided to go with that color scheme for the shower.
It all starts with the invites (pink and green of course!)

The tables were simple. I used nice heavyweight wrapping paper (YES wrapping paper) for a table runner. Mums were in season so I grabbed a few big pots and cut them apart for these little vases running down the center of the tables.

Each guest had a place setting that looked like so. I meant to take a picture of the food! I was too wrapped up in entertaining and running games.

We served chicken crescent rolls (chicken salad inside crescent roll puffed pastry that you bake – it looks like its all wrapped up – so pretty!) Spinach salad with almonds and mandarin oranges and a poppyseed dressing. Homemade organic cranberry sauce. (This was a fall shower). We also had artichoke and cheddar cheese quiche for appetizers.
Edit to say – I found a pic of a group where the food was showing (a little!) Here is the cropped picture. It had been dug into already. You can see the chicken crescent puff and the salad, and the mini quiche. (All homemade!) Pink punch was served with limes (pink and green!)

We played several games. Guess the baby animal name game . . . the winner won a (cutely wrapped) glass polka-dot embossed serving dish. We had 6 winners total!
Guess the number of jelly beans in the bottle (pink and green beans, of course!) The 3rd game was the baby price is right. (guess the cost of the baby items)

I made cookies (my mom had the perfect cookie cutters, of course!) Baby bibs and baby carriages. Pink and green ;-)

Sweet station! I made red velvet cupcakes and I made them more “pink” than red. Adorned the homemade cream cheese frosting with pink and green m&ms . . . totally fit the theme!
Makes me want to eat one now!

And of course, being the partyzilla I am, I always HAVE to have a special desert for the guest of honor. Amy got a huge red velvet cake for herself! Note – she did NOT eat the whole thing! HAHA!
Favors – my all time favorite part of the party. Since we did a good number of winner gifts, I decided to do cookies with luggage tags! Each guest had a luggage tag wrapped around their cookies in a cute cellophane bag.
shop.andersruff.com – we sell luggage tag designs. For $15 we will design a cute tag and even customize the front and back of the design (front with name, back with phone number or whatever you want). Kinkos has laminating stations where you can do about 6 per sheet of heavy laminate. ($1.99 per sheet!) It’s a GREAT way to personalize a favor and a great keepsake!
Since her shower . . . she welcomed her perfect little baby girl! Zoe!
We designed her birth announcements. Here they are!
She used our printer for the announcements, so of course we got to create a matching backside (since all printing INCLUDES full color front and back!)
FRONT:

BACK:

Zoe is just the sweetest little girl ever!!!
If you are interested in the announcement style (we can change it for a boy, too) – we have it on our shop.
We also have luggage tag designing for sale (ANY theme or party we can come up with a design).
